Library for Biblical Studies

The Library for Biblical Studies was opened in May 1995 as an expression of our gratitude toward the Korean churches that have supported the Korean Bible Society throughout its hundred year journey. As the library specializing in resources on biblical studies, it offers a wealth of resources on biblical studies and neighboring academic fields of Ancient Near East studies, linguistics, translation studies, archaeology, etc. With these resources compiled into our library database, we are able to serve as the informational hub for biblical studies in Korea and abroad.

Our Collection

The Information Resource Center for Biblical Studies currently holds about 50,000 books on biblical studies in various languages and also subscribes to 703 kinds of academic journals on biblical studies. In case of renowned journals, it has the entire collection from the first issue. The Center also holds over 1,200 CD-ROM and DVD titles on biblical studies, and important materials that need to be permanently preserved are kept as micro films. The most prized collection of the center is the collection of very old, antique Scriptures, which include the first Scripture in the Korean language. These 555 editions are kept separately for preservation at their best condition.

Open Hours

The Center is open during weekdays from 9am to 5pm, and is closed on Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays.
